Did you know that the benefits of physical training actually come in the recovery phase?
So, if you do a difficult exercise session, it stresses the body, which triggers the body to adapt. But this adaptation only happens if there is enough time without stress... for example - during sleep.
If you do a really hard exercise session and then try another hard session the next day, you might not have recovered enough to truly benefit from it.
The same is true in life. If you are experiencing a lot of stress without enough time to unwind, you gradually empty your fuel tank and reduce your ability to keep going.
By recognising the value of recovery and getting enough of it, you can get the positive benefits of stress without it wearing you out.
Good sleep, good nutrition, time in nature, relaxing with friends, and the breathing practice at the end of the daily chats are all methods that can promote recovery.
